Cory Booker of New Jersey is asking the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice to retract findings from a controversial 2018 report that loosely tied immigration and terrorism that the administration has acknowledged "could be criticized" as misleading.” The incident is once again an indication that Booker wishes to remain unbiased and impartial in any accusations of immigrants also being terrorists, wishing to find concrete reports based truly on facts, especially during Trump’s already controversial presidency. On Jan. 9,2019, in an article by NJ.com, U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez rejected an invitation to appear with President Donald Trump at the White House, saying he was protesting the president’s "despicable” immigration policies and willingness to shutdown the government over his southern border wall.
