Bob Hugin is the Republican candidate of this race. He was raised in NJ and attended Princeton University before serving in the Marine Corps until 1983. After earning his MBA, he joined JP Morgan and later became Managing Director. For the last 19 years, he served as chairman and CEO of Celgene, now a large biotech company. His campaign focuses on “[expanding] opportunity for for New Jerseyans across our great state”.

House of Representatives Race
Tom Malinowski is the Democrat candidate of this race. As a child, he immigrated to the US from Communist Poland. Raised in central NJ, he served in the executive branch under Clinton and Obama, leading a bipartisan effort to ban torture as chief advocate for the Human Rights Watch. His campaign focuses on standing up for the middle class, to Trump’s policies, and to “dictators like Putin and Kim Jong-un”.

Leonard Lance is the Republican candidate and incumbent of this race. Raised in Hunterdon County, he served in the state legislature before working in Washington DC on the Energy and Commerce Committee and as a co-chairman of the Republican Israel Caucus. He has championed low- tax, limited government, and conservative policies, campaigning on smaller government, less spending, and “real reform in Washington”.
